The Mercedes-Benz charges up with its Sporty young Mercedes-Benz A-Class, kept in mind for the young buyers. With the German carmaker entering the hatchback segment with the super cool A-class, it embodies the design traits from its great brand of luxury. It’s a super cool ride to ride in with an affordable price tag made possible by Mercedes for all its fans across the world.
The car has already bagged over 90,000 bookings after its launch in the Europian market. This with its sporty looks in both the interior and exterior designs, a good fuel consumption, and the Mercedes-Benz brand, it is a genuine rival for the in line competitors like Audi A3, BMW 1 series, VW Golf, and the Volvo V40.

It comes with both petrol and diesel variants. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class models for petrol and diesel are the A Class A180 Sport and the A Class A180 CDI.
The trims of both the variants are different. The Sports variant offers a lot more features which only avails in petrol. Petrol variant comes with 1.6 litres four-cylinder turbocharged engine and the diesel variant is impressed with a 2.2-litre engine. The petrol engine capable of managing a maximum output of 120.7 bhp at 5000 rpm while diesel engine gives a power of 107.3 bhp at 3200 to 4400 rpm combined with a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1400 – 2800 rpm. With a 0-100 kmph time of just over 11 seconds, the diesel variant comes claiming an ARAI fuel efficiency figure of 20kmpl.

Dash looks smart, and leather all around exude a plush feeling. Monotony of all black around on dash and cabin is compensated by silver accents around AC vents and the audio console. Lights on the audio and aircon panel are light sensitive and brighten up with the ambience of light.

White dials on the instrument panel are good and clear displaying info from the trip computer. Steering handle grips great and the positioning of the paddle shifters is good. Driver seat is electrically adjustable and has a memory function while the side passenger has to manually operate his seat. Back seaters have a good shoulder room and the car is overall very spacious. The boot offers 341litres of space though most of it is taken up by the space saver.

On safety grounds, Mercedes gained A-Class with all the desired safety features it needed. Eleven electronic assistance systems are there which include Attention assist, Hill Start assist, Brake assist system and bi-xenon headlamps. Adding to this list seven airbags, ABS, ESP, Acceleration Skid Control, adaptive brake lights, electric parking brake and tyre pressure loss warning system.
At these dimensions of the A-Class it’s similar to most of the mid-size sedans in the market to offer a luxury to feel in with the grand brand of Merc-Benz embedded with cool features gives everyone its premium feeling of luxury in the hatchback segment.
